Literacy Instruction and Resources

Hi! Welcome to the Literacy Chick! My name is Kathy Bonyun, and I am a High School Literacy Coach, a Special Educator, a mom, wife, Zumba instructor, multi-tasker, and adventurer.
My passion is watching students light up when they "get it." Some people are adrenaline junkies, I'm an "Ooooohh, I get it now!" junkie. I am an Appalachian State University grad ('93) with a degree in Special Education - Mild/Moderate Disabilities - Go APPS!! I did my graduate work at Western Carolina University and received my M.A.Ed. in Special Education in 2005. While I was on a roll, I jumped headlong into National Board certification and became a National Board Certified Teacher in the fall of 2006.
